Water Rafting is one of the safest action sports available and offers
a truly exhilarating feeling... but don't take our word for it why
not come and try it for yourself??
Not for
the faint hearted, this course will consist of up to 7 people per
raft (8 including instructor) and allows you to take part in a truly
spectacular experience. Your transport for the white water ride is a
rugged, inflatable 14 foot raft, specially hand make in the UK. The
rafts are self bailing with inflatable floors and the compartment
design ensures each raft is virtually un-sinkable!
Everyone
in the group will be kitted out in the centre's safety helmets,
buoyancy aids and dry cagoules from the centres extensive store of
equipment. Wetsuits are compulsory and can be hired on the day from
reception at the cost of £5.00. You may wear your own providing
it is long-legged and suitable for the activity.
From
here you will meet up with your raft guide to participate in a
comprehensive safety brief, where all members of the group will be
instructed on safety and the rafting technique. You will then be
taken by mini-bus to the top of the site and descend the white water
course. You will get as many runs as possible within your chosen
time. Each time you and your raft will be chauffeured back to the top
of the river saving all your energy for the water. Along the way you
will tackle the rapids of "Grave Yard", "Ski
Slope" and the world famous international site along with
features that will make your experience one to remember. As you gain
more confidence, your session can provide you with some unexpected
surprises! Each run greets you with a different challenge as the
nature of the river is unpredictable, but between team work and the
centres expertise the rapids can be overcome!!
Age &
Fitness Guidelines: Minimum age 16, maximum 50. Participants under 18
years old need a parent or guardians consent.
Your
weight must be in proportion to your height.
