There
are many reasons why people jump out of perfectly good airplanes.
From the adrenalin rush to the quiet beauty of riding back down to
the ground under one of today’s most modern parachutes,
Parachuting has it all, for some it is the sense of adventure or
conquering fears while for others it is the pure thrill of flying
through the air under canopy. Whatever the reason , parachuting today
is as diverse in its rewards as it is in the people who have what it
takes to make the jump.
There is a
fantastic social scene associated with the sport of parachuting with
ParaQuest. you get to meet new and exciting people, and close
relationships are easily formed with time spent in such a great
environment. It is often the case that we find ourselves meeting over
and over again, especially on the weekend break course’s which
you will receive more information on should you decide to take up
this awesome experience and challenge of our static line
parachute course.
Parachuting
is a sport which most people enjoy as a recreational hobby on
weekends, however for the first time student it is also an experience
which they proudly carry with them for the rest of their lives.
What
does the course involve ?
You will
arrive at the centre on a Saturday morning where you will meet up
with your instructor followed by an introduction to the centre. Your
course will consist of up to 12 students, you will undergo 8 hours
intensive training covering a wide range of subjects such as :
The static
line system and how it works, the aircraft you will be jumping from
and how to leave it in control, the position to adopt when exiting
the aircraft, and how to check, steer and land your canopy.
From the
moment you step into the aircraft you will be securely attached to
the static line which is designed to automatically open your canopy
as you exit the aircraft.
Your parachute
jump will then take place on either the same day or the following day
( weather permitting ). However in the summer months you may be able
to jump on the same day, but please allow two full days for the course.
Once you have
completed your parachute jump you will be awarded your British
Parachute Association Certificate and training card and at this stage
you would have completed the first step towards becoming a qualified skydiver.
We encourage
people to return and continue jumping. It’s possible to find
yourself on your first FREE FALL In only 7 Jumps and Additional
Jumps are only £45
All the
training at the centre’s are conducted under the strict rules
laid down by the British Parachute Association but with the emphasis
on fun!
Remember
You will
receive thorough training and jump in just two days and experience
the ultimate rush.
Jump from
3,500 feet solo
You will be
securely attached by means of a static line and your parachute will
open automatically.
You would have
made the first step to becoming a qualified skydiver.
You will
receive an official British Parachute Association Certificate and
Training log book.
Can I jump for Charity?
Yes, we
currently work in association with charities which have registered
with us ( please see booking form ).
All you have
to do is raise £260 ( or more ) in sponsorship using our
specially designed sponsor forms which you will find enclosed within
this pack. Please be assured that this target is well within reach,
just ask every one you know to sponsor you. Remember that every penny
you raise over the £260 target will be a further contribution to

TANDEM
PARACHUTE COURSE

There are many

ground under one of today’s most modern parachutes,
Parachuting has it all, for some it is the sense of adventure or
conquering fears while for others it is the pure thrill of flying
through the air at 120 mph. Whatever the reason , parachuting today
is as diverse in its rewards as it is in the people who have what it
takes to make the jump.
There is a
fantastic social scene associated with the sport of parachuting with
ParaQuest. you get to meet new and exciting people, and close
relationships are easily formed with time spent in such a great
environment. It is often the case that we find ourselves meeting over

this awesome experience and challenge of our Tandem parachute course.
What does
the course involve ?
A Tandem
Skydive in one of three options we offer you to experience. A Tandem
Skydive is where you are physically attached to an instructor by
means of the dual harness system. This course allows you to
experience the pure adrenalin rush of free fall with the comfort of
being looked after by a highly experienced instructor.
You will
arrive at the centre at 9am on the day of your course where you will
meet your tandem instructor followed by an introduction to the
centre. The next step will be your training, this will take 30
minutes during which time you will be shown how the dual harness
system works, you will be shown the aircraft you will be jumping from
and the correct position to adopt when exiting the aircraft and all
other aspects of the Tandem Parachute Course. Upon completion of your
training it will be time for the big event ( The Jump )
You will exit
the aircraft in Tandem from 10,000 feet above the ground, you will
free fall down to 5,000 feet travelling at 120 mph where at
this point the instructor will deploy the canopy, once the canopy has
opened you will see the steering toggles drop down and you begin your
tranquil descent back to earth from a mile high, during this time you
will be able to speak to your instructor and be given the chance to
take the controls of the canopy, however the instructor will retake
control of the parachute for the landing.
Once you have
landed, you will be awarded your Tandem Skydive Certificate and at
this stage you would have Experienced the pure adrenalin rush of a
Tandem Skydive for yourself. All training conducted at the centre are
conducted under the strict rules laid down by the British Parachute
Association but with the emphasis on fun !

SPONSORSHIP SCHEME
The following sponsopship
system makes it easy for you to take part and ensures that you do
not have to pay all of the sponsorship monies in advance. On all course's
you must pay for your training on the morning of your course, but
your sponsorship money is not due until 45 days after you have completed
your jump.
How Does
the Sponsorship Scheme Work For Static Line Parachute Jumps?

Raise or
collect £260.00 (or more!) in sponsorship

Once you have
achieved this target send your application for in to us with a
deposit payment of £45.00 per person (non-refundable, made
payable to ParaQuest Adventure Sports)

Upon the
morning of your course you will be required to pay £160.00 (non-refundable)
(At this point you would have spent a total of £205.00 of your
own money)

Complete your
training and jump, and you are awarded your certificate and your
sponsorship forms signed by the instructor or event co-ordinator.

Start
Collecting your due sponsorship money (Minimum £260)
-
Once you have
collected in your sponsorship money you are then entitled to deduct
the sum of £205.00 from the amount you collected to be used
against the cost you incurred by taking part, therefore the whole
course has been for FREE and the remaining sponsorship money (Minimum
£55.00) must be sent direct to the charity with your sponsorship
forms. (Please try to exceed the minimum targer of £260.00 to
help the charity's)
How

of £55.00 must be sent direct to the charity with your
sponsorship forms. (Please try to exceed the minimum target as the
charity will benefit a great deal more)

ParaQuest
Adventure Sports operte sponsored parachure course's in rememberance
of Gill Small to help raise money for charity. For which it only
recieves a regestration fee to cover administration and other
expenses.
ParaQuest
Adventure Sports recieves NO management fees.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
When Can I
Jump ?
We have
course’s running on most weekends, Please provide us with a
choice of two weekends on your application form and we will do our
best to arrange your course for one of those dates.
Do I need
insurance ?
You will
automatically be covered for £2,000.000 third party insurance
but this will not cover you for personal injury. Should you wish to
take out cover for personal injury please complete the form which
will be sent to you in your booking confirmation pack and return it
to the address which will be provided.
What
restrictions are on age and health ?
Please note
for both a static line course and tandem course your weight should be
in proportion to your height
Please contact
us for details. The principal medical restrictions for all jumps are
diabetes, epilepsy, fits, recurrent blackouts, heart or lung disease,
mental illness and some cases of asthma but if you are in any doubt
please contact us for further information. You will be required to
sign a medical form before the start of your course declaring your
fitness to take part - this will be sent to you upon receipt of your
application form but is also available upon request. Those under the
age of 18 will need the medical form signed by a parent or guardian;
those aged 40 and over will need it signed by their doctor.
THE
MAXIMUM WEIGHT IS : 14 Stone for men and 12 Stone for Women.
How do I
book my parachute course ?
Simply
complete the enclosed application form and send it to us as soon as
possible, and certainly no later than four weeks from the date of
this information pack. Please note you must also provide a £60
deposit per person.
Payment can be
made by Credit Card / Debit Card or Cheque
( Cheques
should be made payable to ParaQuest Adventure Sports ).
Sponsorship Scheme
You have 45
days from the date you complete your jump before your sponsorship is
due. Full details of our sponsorship payment system are included on
the following page entitled ‘Sponsorship Scheme’.
